Quarried and located in the region of Carrara at the northernmost tip of modern-day Tuscany, Italy. Calacatta Marble’s production is limited and well-controlled from this quarry. Seasonal factors also affect production as quarrying becomes very challenging in the peak winter months on the mountain top in Carrara. Both of these factors lend to the rarity, and expense, of this natural stone and the reason why it is regarded as the most precious marble varieties found in Italy. Because of this popularity, Calacatta is considered a status symbol in the design industry and will often be used as a dramatic feature in residential and commercial projects. Calacatta is suitable for both internal and external application and can be used in both wet and dry areas.
Currently only stocked in the traditional 75x150x10mm Subway, however we are able to produce in any pattern and size you like.
